A person in security needs the SIA Door Supervisor course to legally work as a door supervisor in the UK, as mandated by the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
Once you complete your training and pass your exam you can apply for your SIA license.

The door supervisor course is preferred as it offers greater versatlity and career options. The security guard course only allows you to work in manned guarding whereas the door supervisor allows you to work in a wide variety of roles like manned guarding, bars, night clubs and venue security.
Q. Do I need an Emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to gain my SIA license?
You need an emergency first aid at work as part of your door supervisor training. At 168 training this is included in the door supervisor course price.
Q. If I take this course can I instantly work in security?
To work in a SIA role you will need to take this course, pass the exam and then apply for your SIA license.

You must bring valid ID, such as a passport or driving licence, and proof of your address. A full ID checklist will be provided upon booking.
Q. What happens after I pass the course?
You can apply for your SIA licence online. Once approved, you’ll be legally licensed to work as a door supervisor.
