The Personal Licence Holder Course, accredited by Highfield Qualifications, is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge required to obtain a Personal Licence to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol in England and Wales, in line with the Licensing Act 2003.

Yes, there is a 40-question multiple choice exam. You need at least 28 correct answers to pass.

Q. What qualification do I receive?

You’ll receive the Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH), which is required to apply for a personal licence.

Q. What do I need before applying for a Personal Licence?

You’ll need the APLH qualification, a basic DBS check (criminal record check), and to apply to your local licensing authority.

Q. What ID do I need to bring to the course?

You must bring valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, to confirm your identity for the exam.
